Globe Telecom has announced last month that its network is not only 100% 3G coverage, but also 4G HSPA+ as well. This will provide high-speed quality mobile internet for more than 42 million prepaid, postpaid, and TM subscribers. It held the distinction of being the first telecommunications company in the Philippines that has fully equipped its cell sites with 3G technology. After learning about it, I decided to give out my own sentiments about it.
I admitted that I have been interested in Globe since I used its prepaid SIM on an Internet-capable Nokia feature phone to access the World Wide Web through the Google Free Zone. While I am accessing the Internet, I have my doubts about the telco giant when it comes to its reliability. But, pretty soon, when my sister accessed Facebook on her smartphone, I have proven that I am only trusting Globe in providing breakthrough solutions that would suit my own digital lifestyle once I have my own phone.
But there are many people, more particularly Globe subscribers and tech industry critics, who are concerned about Globe's statement about its largest 3G and 4G network. To tell you the truth, I do not blame them because the mobile internet experience provided by Globe depends on where you use your SIM and the strong signal covering the said area. There are many various reasons why I am still having my trust and faith in Globe, despite the fact that the country has one of the slowest average broadband internet speeds in Southeast Asia according to a recent study.
I have made my conclusion that if I would buy my own smartphone, I would use Globe for my mobile internet needs. Besides, I am slated to become a heavy mobile internet user in the coming days.
