As more powerful smartphones begin to make their presence in the Philippine markets, many powerful phones are starting to become more and more affordable. And it seems that local mobile phone brands are getting into the concept of developing and unveiling powerful and budget-friendly smartphones that would cater to the digital lifestyle needs of tech-savvy Filipino consumers.
Now here is a list of the top five smartphones that are available in local markets which I can say that they are worth buying and trying for.
1. MyPhone Rio (PRICE: P4,999.00)
It was released in summer of 2014 and is considered as the first budget-friendly Android-powered quadcore smartphone in the Philippines. Now that it is running on Android Kitkat, I should expect that we will experience a smoother and feel-good performance on the Rio. The camera may not be the best, but it is good for great selfies anyway.
2. Starmobile Up+ (PRICE: P5,490.00)
Now I have many various reasons why you should try buying this new iteration of the Starmobile Up. Like the Rio, it does not have the best camera. But, you should take note of its 8GB internal storage and a double tap feature where you can tap your screen twice to rest your phone without pressing the Power button on the side. That what makes the Up+ better.
3. Cherry Mobile Flare 3 (PRICE: P3,999.00)
The Flare series is considered to be a series of the most affordable smartphones available in Philippine markets. And this one is not a disappointment. Instead, it is more powerful than any other Flare phone available in the country. Dubbed as the "Phablet ng Bayan", it sports a 5-inch IPS OGS display, 1.3GHz quadcore processor, 8GB of internal storage with expandable memory up to 64GB, and an 8 megapixel rear autofocus BSI camera with LED flash + 2 megapixel front camera.
4. Cherry Mobile Alpha Luxe (PRICE: P4,999.00)
Today's tech-savvy consumers did not know that Cherry Mobile was the first local mobile phone brand in the Philippines to release their own Windows-powered phones back in 2010. Through its own Alpha series of smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8.1 OS, Cherry Mobile introduces these consumers to the world of Windows. Cherry Mobile Alpha Luxe has all the things I need when I decided to buy my own Windows phone. That includes its own capability for high-quality games because of its quadcore processor.
5. Kata T Mini (PRICE: 4,399.00)
Kata Mobile is one of the numerous mobile phone brands in the Philippines that make tablets affordable in any way possible. And so far, in my point of view, the almost 7-inch Kata T Mini phablet is an example to that matter. Although it runs on a dual core processor, the fact that it is running on Android Kitkat is interesting for me to try it out. In fact, I've already tried it out and it is amazing for me to see a Kitkat-powered tablet this much powerful enough to play games smoother than usual.
Now this list is just my own take on the budget-friendly smartphones that are powerful enough for consumers to be interested on them. If you want to share your thoughts about them, then you should go ahead and share your thoughts on Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus. And if you want, you can share to us your own take on the top 5 powerful budget-friendly smartphones available in the Philippines.
