Let's start with the battle between France and Lithuania for a podium finish in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. It was a good thing that I have been able to watch the match on ABS-CBN, since it was aired live before I wake up at breakfast. If I watch the match, then I would not been able to enjoy my time on a Sunday morning. I was glad that the French team secured a 3rd place finish in the World Cup after an unexpected loss to Serbia in the semifinals. And it was all thanks to one of NBA's best players from that country, Nicholas Batum. That was a tough battle, even tougher than the Finals between USA and Serbia last Monday where the former won in great fashion.
I have already expected Floyd Mayweather Jr. to win his rematch against Marcos Maidana, but come to think of it, many fans believe that he is not the most popular boxer in the world after that match. He may be undefeated, but boxing fans would keep away from his bets. We'll just see if he wants to fight our very own Manny Pacquiao in due time. But, the true highlight of Super Sunday was this year's UAAP Cheerdance Competition, where we saw the National University Pep Squad won the competition for the second time. If you don't believe that they can do it again, well, here's a video to prove that you're wrong.
Therefore, I have made my conclusion that this was the best Super Sunday I have enjoyed this year so far, unlike GMA who bored us to death with boring and disgusting Filipino dubbed movies. Well, GMA News TV made a consolation to this matter, focusing mostly on its news and information programs. But that was no the point. If there is going to be another Super Sunday that features great sporting events, it is sure to be a great hit for viewers like me.
