ABS-CBN Rules Afternoon Frenzy So Far

ABS-CBN, the true number one television station in the Philippines, has dominated Philippine television and the ratings game as the most-watched television station in the country throughout the month of September. Since the start of 2014, the Kapamilya network has been consistently dominating in the ratings game over its rival networks GMA 7 and TV5 ever since the network wars began in 2007. And one of the reasons behind the success of the network so far this year is perhaps its slow but steady and complete domination in its daytime slots, more particularly in the afternoon where GMA 7 is always dominant.



Aside from the country's number one noontime show It's Showtime which is as of this writing celebrating its month-long 5th year anniversary, credited to the network's beginning of its afternoon dominance is not only is current affairs programs but also the return of the number one game show in the country until now, Bet on your Baby which is now on its second season. Well, it is not obvious to see that ABS-CBN has been dominating well in the afternoon slots. And it is all because of the return of the phenomenal Taiwanese drama that first captured the hearts of many Filipinos ten years ago, namely Meteor Garden, which was held last summer of this year.

From Asianovelas to the short-lived return of the telenovela on Philippine television, from the various mix of Filipino and Filipino-dubbed blockbuster movies to the return of the number one game show in the Philippines today, I think that ABS-CBN has complemented the afternoon siesta of many Filipinos this year. And I would assume that the network will continue to do that with more programs that would surely capture the hearts of many viewers and, of course, suit their viewing lifestyle with style and in dominant fashion. And that is a fact!!
