Happy Global Kapit-Bisig Day!!

Be Careful with my Heart, one of ABS-CBN's longest-running drama series today and the number one daytime program in Philippine television, will officially end on November 28, 2014. This day would be known as Global Kapit-Bisig Day as millions of TV viewers from all over the Philippines and around the world are invited to join hands and witness the final episode of the show that has been around during lunch breaks in two years and captured the hearts of many Filipinos in the country.


I think that this will be the first time that the final episode of the long-running series will be aired simultaneously not only in the Philippines, but also around the world. According to newspapers, the final episode of Be Careful with my Heart will be aired exclusively on both ABS-CBN and iWantv! for viewers all over the Philippines, while those outside the country will experience watching it on The Filipino Channel (TFC) and its video streaming service TFC.tv, as well as during a live streaming event on the official website of the series.

Although we will miss the show, there is no doubt that the light-hearted love story of Maya dela Rosa (played by Jodi Sta. Maria) and Richard Lim (played by Richard Yap) captivated millions of Filipino viewers and changed the landscape of Philippine television. Since it started airing on July 2012, the series received positive feedback from not only the viewers, but also netizens as various moments regarding the series, more particularly on Maya and Ser Chief, dominate the world of social media. The success of the show in both social media and TV ratings has also reached international success, as it became one of the most popular and high-rated shows in numerous countries, even in Southeast Asia.

Who would have thought that this feel-good drama would last this very long? It was so successful that we did not feel the presence of its rival programs like Kusina Master, Cielo de Angelina, With a Smile, Basta Everyday Happy, and The Ryzza Mae Show (the worst celebrity talk show in Philippine television). But as we bade goodbye to the show that made our hearts warm, we must relive all the moments of love and happiness that the show brought through the years and the lessons that we should learn from it.
