The First Microsoft Lumia Phone

In my previous article, I shared to you about the fact that the Lumia series of Windows-powered smartphones will be renamed as Microsoft Lumia. Now I would like to share with you the first ever Microsoft Lumia phone to be officially available soon in Philippine markets - the Microsoft Lumia 535.

Now why is the first Microsoft Lumia phone called the 535? Well, if you must know, the first ever Microsoft Lumia phone is the first ever "5x5x5" smartphone. This refers to its 5-inch IPS display, 5 megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, and 5 megapixel wide angle front facing camera.

And since because it is powered by Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, you can expect a smoother smartphone experience on the Lumia 535 since it is powered by a quadcore Qualcomm processor. Note that the phone has a pre-installed Denim update, whatever that means. Its 5 megapixel front camera is great for taking selfies, but its rear camera is only good for decent video recording and not good for HD.

To make it simple, here are the specs of the Microsoft Lumia 535:

- Windows Phone 8.1 OS with Denim Update
- 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quadcore processor
- 5-inch IPS capacitive multitouch display
- 1GB of RAM
- 8GB of internal storage
- Expandable memory up to 128GB via microSD
- 5 megapixel rear autofocus camera with f/2.4 Apenture Lens and LED flash
- 5 megapixel wide angle front facing camera
- WiFi/Bluetooth 4.0/GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS
- Light sensor/Accelerometer/Proximity sensor
- Dual Micro SIM/Dual Standby
- GSM Quadband
- 3G WCDMA 900/2100; HSPA+ up to 42.2 Mbps
- 1905mAh battery
- 140.2 x 72.4 x 8.8 mm @ 146 g

The Microsoft Lumia 535 is expected to have a price of between P6,000 and P7,000 when it is available in Philippine markets. So I would assure you that this will not give you any problems when it comes to entry-level smartphones.
