What would you do if you are a subscriber of the country's largest, strongest and most reliable mobile network and you have just registered and received a small but fair and worthwhile bulk mobile data allowance of, let's just say, 30 MB on your Internet-capable mobile phone like a smartphone?

Well, the fact that Smart Prepaid, Sun Cellular, and Talk n'Text subscribers will enjoy free mobile internet anytime and anywhere has become an interesting trend that has gone viral since it was announced to the public and then eventually rolled out last September. For them, there are a lot of things that you can do with your smartphone and 30 MB of free mobile data as long as you have either a maintaining balance of at least P1.00 or an active subscription of any prepaid promo.

For the benefit of full understanding, here are the five things that I recommend you should do with a fair amount of data on your mobile phone.

1. Unlimited Facebook. If you think that the unlimited use of Facebook can fill up your daily consumption of limited mobile data on your phone, then you are absolutely wrong. This is because whether you use the Facebook mobile app or you logged on to its mobile site, you can do anything that you want on Facebook for there is no megabyte limit for you to consume as long as you are in the app.

2. Wikipedia Zero. If unlimited Facebook all-you-can for Smart, Sun and Talk n'Text subscribers has no MB limit, so is Wikipedia. You can now either the Wikipedia app or go to the Wikipedia site to browse for information about certain specific topics of your choosing. Note that this would go on until February of next year.

3. You can check on the latest news and information on various news sites and blogs. On the contrary, if you are into showbiz, then you should use Twitter and Instagram to check the latest on your favorite stars and TV shows. You could also read the latest reports about them on your favorite showbiz blogs. But if you are into blogging, then you should update your own blog as well as long as it will not consume your mobile data quickly just for that purpose.

4. If you are into the Philippines' largest music streaming service Spinnr or the world's largest online music streaming service Spotify, then you are in luck. You can stream your favorite songs on these streaming sites, and you can only do this in just 15 minutes. If you don't want to use your 30 MB of data for music, then you should subscribe to a Spinnr VIP package for at least P49 a month.

5. Perhaps one of the "save the best for last" things that you can do with 30 MB of your mobile data is regarding online shopping. You can browse for the things that you can buy on various popular online shopping sites like OLX and Lazada. If you want to buy what you want and disregard the allocation that you got, then go ahead if this won't stop you.

Aside from these recommendations, if you are a heavy mobile internet user, the bad news for you is that your 30 MB of data will not include video streaming, downloading files, and video calling and chat (unless you are watching videos on Facebook and using Facebook Messenger for chat). I will end this with a spoiler. Not only is Smart's mobile internet promo extends until the first week of January 2015, but it also extends its availability and reach to postpaid subscribers and broadband users. Now everybody will be happy, and I'm sure of it!!
